    JOINT B.ED ADMISSIONS PUNJAB 2018 (PANJAB UNIVERSITY, CHANDIGARH) Schedule, Eligibility, Seats, Entrance Test, Admit Card, Answer Key and Counselling

    The admission to B.Ed. Course in the colleges affiliated to Panjab University, Chandigarh, Punjabi University, Patiala and Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar for the session 2018-19 shall be made on the basis of the relative merit of the candidates in the Common Entrance Test, subject to the availability of seats in a particular subject combination and as per reservation policy of Government of Punjab. 

    The candidates are required to fill the choices of colleges and Major Subjects on the prescribed proforma on the B.Ed. admission website. He/she will be admitted to the college on the basis of merit for his/her category in the respective subject, provided he/she fulfills the requisite eligibility conditions.
    Applications will be accepted online only through official website punjabbed.puchd.ac.in

    Admission to the seats under 15% (All India) quota will be done as per Reservation Policy of the Central Govt

    KEY DATES-

    1. Date of online Application Form - May 14, 2018 (Monday)
    2. Last date for submission of information - June 20, 2018 (Wednesday)
    3. Last date for deposit of fee- June 22, 2018 (Friday) upto 3:59 p.m.
    4. Last date for uploading of photograph, signature- June 25, 2018 (Monday)
    5. Availability of Admit Card Online- July 01, 2018 (Sunday) after 6:00 p.m.
    6. Date of Entrance Test July 05, 2018 (Thursday) 10:30 a.m. to 01:00 p.m.
    7. Display of Answer Keys on the website- July 06, 2018 (Friday) by 5:00 p.m.
    8. Last date of submission of objections for the Answer Key- July 08, 2018
    9. Display of seats and subject combinations- July 10, 2018 (Tuesday)
    10. Date of declaration of result- July 11, 2018 by 8:00 p.m.
    11. Updating of qualifying degree marks by candidates- July 11-20, 2018

    Last Date with Late Fee- 

    Candidates who have not completed their form but have paid their requisite fee, can complete their form by paying late fee of Rs. 500/-. 
    Candidates have to visit Computer Centre, Panjab University, Chandigarh for this purpose. June 26-July 02, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

    Interested candidates who have not registered or have not paid the requisite fee, can fill fresh form by paying late fee of Rs. 1500/-, along with application form fee as prescribed on the website.
    Candidates have to visit Computer Centre, Panjab University, Chandigarh for this purpose. June 26-July 02, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

    ELIGIBILITY 

    a) A person who possesses the following qualifications shall be eligible to join the course: 
    • Candidates with at least 50% Marks either in Bachelor’s degree and/or in the Master’s degree in Science/ Social Sciences/ Humanities/ Commerce/Home Science/ B.B.A/ B.C.A/ B.A.LL.B/ B.Com.LL.B, or any other qualification equivalent thereto, are eligible for admission to the programme. However, while calculating merit, marks obtained in Graduation only will be considered. There shall be a relaxation of 5% marks in favour of SC/BC candidates. Candidate with less than 45% marks belonging to these categories shall not be eligible. 
    • Bachelors in Engineering or Technology with specialization in science and mathematics with 55% marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto, are eligible for admission to the programme. However, while calculating merit, marks obtained in Graduation only will be considered. There shall be a relaxation of 5% marks in favour of SC/BC candidates. Candidate with less than 50% marks belonging to these categories shall not be eligible

    b) Candidate must have studied the major subject of the subject combination for at least two years at Bachelor's level/Master's level. Honors students shall opt for major subject in which they have obtained Honors, the minor subject should have been studied at least for one year. 

    c) Candidates who have appeared for qualifying examination and whose results have not been declared may be provisionally allowed to apply for Common Entrance Test at their own risk and responsibility but they shall become eligible for counseling only after they have produced the evidence of having satisfied the above said conditions on the date of counselling. 

    d) Result late (RL)/Re-evaluation/Compartment cases, if their results are declared before final counseling, shall be considered subject to availability of seats only.

    B.Ed. SEATS AND RESERVATION 

    85% seats will be reserved for the Candidates from within the State of Punjab and 15% seats will be open to candidates of other States/U.Ts on the basis of merit of CET prepared on all India basis excluding Punjab. The eligibility criteria for 85% seats will be that the candidate must be a resident of Punjab State in terms of the Punjab Government, Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (PP-11 Br.) letter No. 1/3/95-3PP- 11/96 19, dated the 6th June, 1996 and letter No. 1/3/95-3PP-11/80, dated 1st January, 1999. The notifications are annexed at Annexure B and C respectively in the notification of B.Ed. issued by Government of Punjab. 

    If sufficient number of candidates belonging to reserved category(ies) is not available, the vacant seats will be offered to candidates in the open category. Likewise, if seats under 85% state category remain vacant, these would be transferred to 15% all India category and vice-versa. Further, if suitable candidates are not available in any one of the subcategories of reserved categories, the seats so available will be filled up by the candidates from the other sub categories and if they are not available in any sub- category, then seats shall be filled up from general/open category candidates. 

    Seats up to 70% of sanctioned intake at Malwa Central College of Education for Women, Ludhiana shall be reserved for rural women candidates who are bona fide residents of the State of Punjab.
    i) Scheduled Caste 25% 
    ii) Backward Classes 5% 
    iii) Border Areas/Backward Area (2 %each) 4% 
    iv) Sports-persons * 2% 
    v) Children/Grand Children of Freedom Fighters 1% 
    vi) Persons with Disabilities 3% 
    vii) a) Wards/widows of defense personnel killed or disabled to the extent of 50% or more in action; Wards of gallantry awardees of serving defence personnel/ex-servicemen 
    b) Wards of ex-servicemen/serving personnel. 2%
    viii) a) Wards/widows of para-military forces personnel Punjab Police, PAP and Punjab Home Guards killed or disabled in action to the extent of 50% or more. 
    b) wards of Para-military forces personnel/ ex-paramilitary forces personnel and Punjab Police/PAP/Punjab Home guards personnel decorated with Gallantry Medals
    ix) November, 1984 riots affected displaced persons, children of the Army deserters killed, 100% Physically disabled; children of the families of persons killed as a result of terrorist violence or by security forces acting in aid of civil authorities and the children of innocent civilians who have sustained 100% disability in terrorist violence or during operation by security forces action in aid of civil authorities. 2% 
    x) Widows/Divorced Women. 2% 
    xi) Ex-Servicemen/ Women 1% 
    xii) Wards/Children of all ex-servicemen settlers of Cambell Bay Island of Andaman and Nicobar Only. 1% 
    xiii) Wards of Kashmiri displaced persons (Reservation of at least one seat in merit quota of technical/professional institutions)- Additional 1 seat (Nonconvertible) 
    Note: 
    The candidates being admitted under 15% quota on All India basis shall be eligible only for reservation provided by the Constitution of India i.e. 25% for SC and 5% for B.C. 

    Admit Card-

    Admit Card will be available for downloading from the website by the candidate using his/her own Login ID and Password provided while generating Fee Challan. The candidates will be communicated through email only for this purpose- July 01, 2018 (Sunday) after 6:00 p.m.

    Answer Key

    Answer Key will be uploaded on the official website after the test. Candidates can download the same from website.
    Objections for the Answer Key (through e-mail at pbbedadmissions@pu.ac.in) can be filled upto July 08, 2018 (Sunday) by 2:00 p.m.

    First Online Counselling Schedule-

    1.  Online Choice filling for colleges & Major Subject Combination- July 12(Evening)-20, 2018
    2. Allocation of Seats on the basis of merit and choices provided by the candidates- July 22, 2018 by 8:00 p.m.
    3. Reporting at allocated colleges by the candidate on the basis of Seat Allocation List- July 23-26, 2018
    4. Last date for Reporting of filled/unfilled seats by the colleges on the web portal (no email will be entertained)- July 27, 2018

    Second Online Counselling Schedule-

    1. Updating of qualifying degree marks by candidates (for those candidates who have not provided marks before 1st online counselling.)- July 24-30, 2018
    2. Online Choice filling for Major Subject Combination & colleges for those qualified candidates who have not submitted their choices in the first online counselling- July 28-30, 2018
    3. Allocation of seats to candidates against the unfilled seats and De-reservation of seats of category(s) [unfilled due to non-availability of candidates in the particular category(s) ] as per policy- August 01, 2018 by 8:00 p.m.
    4. Reporting at allocated colleges by the candidate on the basis of Seat Allocation List- August 02-06, 2018

    The Management of Self Financed Colleges will advertise the Management Quota Seats only after online allocation of seats by the University i.e. after second counseling.
    5. Filling up of management quota seats in self financed colleges- August 08-10, 2018
    6. Last date of reporting of filled seats to Coordinator by colleges on the web-portal- August 13, 2018 by 5:00 p.m.
    7. The commencement of the regular classes August 06, 2018
